We seek a dynamic and results-driven Manager of Finance and Accounting to be Welcome’s first dedicated Finance hire. This is an exciting opportunity to help build the finance organization from the ground up.

As our Manager of Finance and Accounting, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, project reporting, and analysis activities for the organization and other entities within our enterprise. This position requires strong leadership, technical accounting expertise, and the ability to manage complex financial processes involving multiple legal entities, intercompany transactions, consolidations, non-working capital accounts, and month-end and year-end closing. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping

    • Documenting financial transaction details and monitoring transactions;

    • Maintain QuickBooks accounting system for legal entities, including LLCs;

      • Lead transition from QuickBooks to a long-term accounting platform

    • Manage Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable for legal entities, including LLCs

    • Reconciling corporate card and expense management platform and monthly bank and company accounts;

    • Managing vendor credit accounts.

  • Accounting

    • Lead the month-end and year-end closing and consolidation process, ensuring all financial activities are accurately recorded, consolidated (where applicable), and reported;

    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements;

    • Review and reconcile accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and transactions across all our entities, as well as ensuring intercompany transactions are properly recorded timely and/or eliminated in consolidation;

    • Develop and maintain cost and profit estimates for new and existing residential build projects and generate monthly cost reports and trends;

    • Collaborate with the Fulfilment and Procurement partners to develop reporting and processes to manage the P&L and Balance sheet impacts of material purchasing;

    • Support in financial statement audits and tax return preparation by preparing documentation and working with external audit & tax teams.

  • FP&A

    • Conduct detailed account analyses and produce budget-to-actual variance reports to support financial decision-making;

    • Plan and prepare the annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term plan for the business;

    • Preparation of a monthly financial package including financial statements, cash reconciliation and analysis, and KPI dashboard;

    • Support budget tracking and management, budget versus actual variance analysis, and ad hoc requests from management on revenue and spending trends;

    • Monitor the timing of payments for cash forecasting;

    • Support in ad hoc accounting and financial data analysis, as needed.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or Equivalent) in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other business-related field;

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of accounting/US GAAP;

  • Must have QuickBooks online/desktop, Microsoft Office / Google Workspace experience.

  • Professional certification e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA (preferred but not required);

  • 1-3 years in progressive accounting roles with full-cycle accounting processes;

  • Advance experience monitoring the adherence to financial accounting practices, policies, and accounting standards;

  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, systemic, and problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail;

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;

  • Drive results independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a roll-up-your-sleeve approach and attention to detail;

  • Previous start-up experience is a plus;

  • Meets or beats deadlines; ability to prioritize tasks to meet business needs, including prioritizing the work of others on the team;

  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive and effective relationships across teams and various levels in the organization, including management, colleagues, and auditors.
